Candle Care & Tips

Spark Candles Care & Tips

Maximize your Spark Candles experience with these candle care suggestions and tips!

FIRST BURN

When you first light your candle, allow the wax to melt all the way to the outer edges of the container before extinguishing. Allowing a full pool of melted wax helps create an even burn to maximize the scent throw and prevent tunneling.

BURN SESSIONS

Our candles typically fill a room with their signature scents within 30 minutes to an hour. We recommend burning your candle for 3-4 hours at a time to maximize the longevity of the candle. If it is left burning for longer periods without being allowed to re-solidify, the excessive heat will cause the essential oils to burn through the soy wax at a faster rate.

NATURAL INGREDIENTS

The natural properties of our ingredients may produce a "frosted" appearance on the top layer of wax and occasionally occurs when it re-solidifies between lightings. This is normal and will not affect the quality of the burn in any way.

LEVEL SURFACE

Always burn candles on a level, heat-resistant surface away from drafts to ensure an even burn pool and to prevent drowning out the wick.

TIP: Use sand or tiny stones in an empty candle holder to elevate or create an even surface level for our mini essentials or 1oz gold tins!

STORAGE

To ensure your candles are kept in optimum condition, keep them out of direct sunlight and store them in a cool, dark place. If possible, reuse the original lid, dust cover or box to keep debris off and preserve the wax and scent.

WICK

Our cotton wicks are lead-free, unbleached, and braided with high-performance fibers for durability. To provide the cleanest burn possible, trim the wick to .25" before each lighting. If the wick is too long, it may produce unwanted smoke and soot build-up.

Our wooden wicks are made from all-natural wood and create a horizontal flame with subtle crackling as it burns. For the best burn possible, trim the wood wick to .20" before the first lighting. Wood wicks do not mushroom and have little to no soot.

TIP: If soot build-up occurs, wipe clean with a soft tissue once the container has completely cooled and the wax has fully solidified.

SAFETY

Do not leave a burning candle unattended. Always place away from children and pets.

WOODEN MATCHES

Each candle comes with white-tip, wooden safety matches. Please use responsibly. Keep debris from getting in the wax as it may affect the quality of the burn. Allow used matches to cool completely before discarding. Please avoid using any flawed matchsticks.

REPURPOSE

Our decorative containers were beautifully designed to be repurposed long after the candle is gone. Refill them with your favorite mini essentials blend or give them new life as decor throughout the home or office.

TIP: Our containers are the perfect size to hold mini succulents, office supplies, make-up brushes and loose change. The options are endless!

CLEANING

Always allow the container to cool completely before cleaning. A hot container may crack when exposed to cool water. Gently wash with soap and water to remove any remaining wax. We recommend carefully removing the wick base with a spoon.
